Diwali is knocking at the door and Bachchans are known for their lavish Diwali parties. Every year on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Bachchans hosts a grand party that is considered to be a signature event in the Bollywood industry. All the Bollywood biggies can be seen attending Bachchan’s Diwali party. Although, as we all know that 2020 has changed the lives of the people, and celebrations are not celebrated like before. Well, owing to the ongoing pandemic Bachchan’s are not going to have their lavish Diwali party this year. In a recent interview, Abhishek Bachchan himself confirmed the news that due to the COVID- 19 outbreak as well as death in the family, they are skipping the Diwali party this year.
During his talk with Spotboye, Abhishek revealed that this decision has been taken after the death of his sister Shweta Nanda‘s mother-in-law Ritu Nanda. She has passed away earlier this year. He further said that owing to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Diwali party is like a distant dream. His statement reads “It’s true. We had a death in the family this year. My sister Shweta’s mother-in-law (Ritu Nanda) passed away. Besides, who hosts parties at a time like this? Civilization is going through the worst crisis ever. We all need to be as careful as possible. Observing the utmost social distance is the only option we have. And that too is not a guarantee against infection. Diwali parties and other social occasions are for now a distant dream.”
For the unversed, the entire Bachchan family excluding Jaya Bachchan has been tested positive with COVID-19 earlier this year and for the same, they were even admitted to the hospital. And now it seems like they are taking all the safety precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.
